TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The following are the terms and conditions for membership at BrickRose Exchange. We have worked to make the language here accessible. If you have questions about the Terms and Conditions, send your questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
I am joining BrickRose Exchange (“BrickRose Exchange”) to become a member of an intentional community. We are a diverse, inclusive community of cause-driven individuals and companies taking collaborative action to drive social change. We believe that we can become the greatest asset in moving social innovation forward.
As a part of the BrickRose Exchange community, I understand that it is my responsibility to maintain and advance the following three BrickRose Exchange beliefs:
Invent - Preserving what makes Baltimore’s culture special, educating the community-at-large, and creating along the way
Include - Be a space that welcomes people from all walks of life
Inspire - Making members and the local community feel that they belong to something bigger than themselves
Further, I understand that my membership is contingent upon my, and my guests’, compliance with the BrickRose Exchange Membership Terms and Conditions and all future updates of this agreement (collectively the “Terms and Conditions”) as provided by BrickRose Exchange. I understand that by becoming a BrickRose Exchange member and agreeing to these Terms and Conditions does not create a lease or other interest in real property in my favor, but merely a temporary license to use the BrickRose Exchange Space, revocable by BrickRose Exchange pursuant to the Terms and Conditions. I agree to abide by the Terms and Conditions, and I understand that a violation of the Terms and Conditions may result in a termination of my membership.
I understand that BrickRose Exchange reserves the right to update the Terms and Conditions from time to time, and each member shall refer to the most recent version of the BrickRose Exchange Membership Terms and Conditions as posted on the BrickRose Exchange website.
We’re excited to provide you with this basic guide on how to easily and effectively navigate your new community:
The Common Ground
Here at BrickRose Exchange, we are all working together in a shared meeting space. With shared meeting space come shared responsibilities, so abiding by the following guidelines is integral for our community to maintain creativity, harmony, and energy:
Respect: Members of BrickRose Exchange come from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures. It is essential that members maintain a welcoming, supportive, and safe space for all. Members should consider how their words and actions may affect others while having a healthy curiosity and respect for different cultures and lifestyles. Members should take care to ensure everyone has what they need to flourish in the space.
Cleanliness: Members must maintain the area occupied in a neat, clean, and sanitary condition. Please leave the space in a better state than how you found it. There are friendly reminders and guiding principles to remind you, but commit now to help everyone out!
Timeliness: We live in a busy world with meetings to attend and problems to solve. Be cognizant of the time and acknowledge that your fellow members need to use the space as well.
Trust: The idea of a community means that members support one another's' success and wellbeing. The members of this community support you and your work and are eager to do so. Recognize their support and ensure that they know the same of yours.
Happiness: Take a breath. You’re surrounded by a community of people who believe in working to improve things and are willing to throw their lives into it. Celebrate each other at every chance!
Further, by agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you agree that you will NOT:
Maintain or store any inventory of goods upon the premises, unless prior written approval is obtained from BrickRose Exchange;
Use the BrickRose Exchange premises for any illegal purpose;
Tamper with, borrow, or remove property kept in BrickRose Exchange without expressed permission;
Cause or permit any hazardous substance to be used, stored, generated, released or disposed of on or in the premises. Whether material qualifies as “hazardous” shall be determined in the sole discretion of BrickRose Exchange.
Act in a manner that, in BrickRose Exchange’s sole discretion, does or is likely to adversely affect the peaceful operation and enjoyment of the premises, including, without limitation, creating any disturbance to occupants of the BrickRose Exchange space or the greater building and its employees, licensees, guests or contractors.
Post any signs, symbols, or pictures in the premises without the prior approval of BrickRose Exchange. BrickRose Exchange reserves the right to remove, or cause the removal of any materials of any member which BrickRose Exchange deems, in its sole discretion, to be offensive or not conducive to a productive communal work space.
All promotional material for events or programs hosted by members cannot include BrickRose Exchange’s name or logo without written approval from its team. Any failure to comply with this rule will be grounds for revoking membership for any and all members affiliated with the company or organization.
Conduct business or activities that cause any harm, risk, or liability to BrickRose Exchange members or the general public as determined by the discretion of the BrickRose Exchange team and/or its member board.
Meetings and Events
Your membership includes discounts on rentals. The reserving member must be part of the meeting or it will be considered a non-member booking and charged at that rate.
If you are having a large meeting of non-members, please ensure non-members are aware of facility rules. You are responsible and accountable for your guests’ behavior.
Events in the space occur regularly and take over in the evenings. Due to BrickRose’s space layout, we are also able to accommodate daytime events. Bring in your workshops, panel discussions, receptions, and investor meetings by talking with the program team to coordinate a harmonious operation. Utilize our event services, including hosting orientation, event production and promotion advice and support.
We have provided the best quality internet, with ample download and upload speeds but we’re cognizant of traffic.
Just like sharing space, be thoughtful about bandwidth and don’t use wireless in a way that may draw hostile attention (hacking, sharing copyright-infringing material, and all that other fun stuff).
Unlawful behavior, harassment and posting illegal material is unacceptable and the BrickRose team reserves the right to enact consequences in appropriate situations at their and/or the member board’s discretion.
Membership Term & Fees
Membership payments are due on the recurring date. Your first payment is due right when you start your membership.
All payments for membership fees and rent payments, if any, shall be made through Client Portal, unless arranged otherwise.
By agreeing to these terms, you agree to defend and hold BrickRose Exchange and its respective agents harmless from and against any damage, loss, penalty, judgment, fine, cost, expense or fee (including reasonable attorneys’ fees incurred in connection therewith) arising from or in connection with any claim, action and/or judgment for damages to property or injury to persons suffered or alleged to be suffered on the Premises by any person, entity or corporation, unless such property damage or personal injury was caused by BrickRose Exchange’s gross negligence or willful misconduct.
BrickRose Exchange reserves the right to refuse or terminate membership immediately and at any time for any reason, provided that the membership dues already paid by the member at the time of such termination with respect to any portion of the membership period occurring after the date of such termination will be refunded to the member. BrickRose Exchange is not obligated to renew any membership. The cost for membership benefits, perks, and rates are subject to change at any time at the sole discretion of BrickRose Exchange.
